Prof. Klaas P. Baks, Brad Burman and Alexander Chadwick
Abstract: Lone Star Funds, a global private equity firm focused on the acquisition of distressed debt and equity assets, faces an opportunity to buy out a large steakhouse chain: Lone Star Steakhouse. A partner at LSF is charged with evaluating the potential value drivers for the deal, determining the expected returns if an investment is made, and deciding how much to offer for the target, if anything.
